When you are looking to lease a terminal, you have to ask yourself, why? USA Merchant Solutions does not pressure you into leasing, in fact, we no longer do leasing. Our terminals and our pricing is affordable, so you don't have to worry about paying 10 to 20 times what the equipment is worth. Best of all, you own the equipment, no contracts, no payments, no problem. It may seem contrary to purchase euqipment when most of our competitors suggest you lease, however, there is no longer great benefits of leasing for tax purposes, and you end up paying $2500.00 on a $200.00 piece of equipment.

Some misconceptions about leasing are included in the following:

1. If I lease equipment when my lease runs out, I can get a newer terminal. You can re-lease your terminal to get a new one, but you will have paid a lot more than the terminal is worth. For instance, 10 years ago, you could have leased a Tranz 330 for $30.00 a month, at the end of the 4 year lease, you can buy out the terminal for $450.00. Today we sell that terminal for $99.00. With the lease you paid $1440.00 for the lease terms, and another $450.00 for the buyout for a total of $1990.00. Now you can get a new lease for better equiment, and again you have to pay the monthly fee.

2. If my terminal breaks, I can get a new one. True, but if you have your account with us to begin with, whenever your terminal breaks, we will ship you out a new one immediately, programmed, and shipped for Overnight Delivery. If you lease, you may have to wait 5 to 10 business days for your new terminal to arrive.

3. I can write my lease off on my taxes. You can write a percentage off on your taxes but not much. Buying your terminal actually gives you the same write off on business equipment, no monthly equipment charges, and you own the credit card machine.

4. We have had people that have called us saying that they have been in a lease for the same piece of equipment for over 10 years. Leasing companies will not call you to tell you your lease is up, they just want to get paid. Keeping the payments going for 6 extra years comes to over $2000.00. If you look on our site, you will see that our equipment is runs between $100.00 to $750.00 depending on the type of equipment you are getting.
